Located at 405 McGillis Ave in Caspian, The Duke of Abruzzi was built in 1904 as a fraternal lodge by Italian men. The building has been recognized for its national importance as it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. There is also an active Bocce League next to the building with Bocce Balls on the court for open use. Players travel to Iron Mountain for a competitive league.
A group called Friends of the Duke of Abruzzi is now restoring the building with funds from the resale of donated items. It is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with donated items including sports equipment, records, electrical equipment, books, furniture, glassware, and much more. The current project is new brickwork on the front of the building and replacing the large windows.
