The Harbour House Museum, which is located at 17 N. Fourth Street was originally built as a home in 1904 for the Harbour family. The house was constructed by Fred Floodstrand, with a steamboat-style of architecture in mind. John W. Harbour and family were the first family to live in the steamboat-style home. The wrap-around porches were not a part of the original design of the home; Mrs. Ellen Harbour added those on after the construction.
The first floor of the museum has been restored as a replica of a Victorian home in the 1900s.
With a kitchen, parlor, library, and dining room located on the first floor, the museum will take you back in time. The library houses extensive reference material, which is used for research, along with copies of the Diamond Drill newspaper. The Diamond Drills are not open for public viewing at this time due to keeping them from deteriorating.
